The Lady Dior Universe

The "Lady Dior Universe" is a series of short films featuring model/actress Marion Cotillard... A new film is released as each new installment of Lady Dior's handbag line is revealed. What I love about these mini movies is how they are far from typical online commercials. These films contain drama, action and suspense... and every shot looks as though it could be found straight out of a campaign in a high fashion magazine. The newest video was released on Saturday, entitled "Lady Blue Shanghai." Here are the videos in order of their release! You may want to grab a seat on a comfy couch and pop some popcorn before watching these mini movies...

1) Lady Noire Affair- This film is the most action packed! Marion ends up on the Eiffel Tower...

2) Lady Rouge- They made this one into a music video... I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

3) Lady Blue Shanghai (NEWEST EPISODE!!)- This one comes in two parts...The 2nd part is pretty trippy!

This is such a clever way to advertise... After watching these films, viewers have an emotional attachment to not only to Marion and the story lines, but to the handbags themselves. Personally, I wish the story lines of each movie connected. I think this would build suspense and generate more excitement for when each new film was released...Do you agree ? Or do you think that each bag deserves its own different film? If I weren't a poor college student, I would probably buy the Lady Blue Shanghai bag because it was my favorite film ;)

What are your thoughts on these films?

I've never seen these before! An interesting idea, but IMO not really practical for an advertisement for the masses. I was a graphic design major in college and had to take several Ad classes. Though they're filmed beautifully, for an Ad they're just too long! :(

First of all I LOVE her and second this is such a fabulous idea. Totally builds up anticipation and an emotional connection to the bags. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about the Lady Rouge but then I watched it a few times and actually ended up liking it. Can't get the song out of my head now :)

I saw these online before, but didn't quite understand what they were supposed to be. I'll have to make some time and sit down to watch these. It's definitely a cool way to advertise!

I don't quite know.
I love the music video and the concept behind it but I think the movies can be less documentary like.
Still love Dior though.
The clothes in these videos are amazing!

I came here to vent cause I know how you guys feel about this..what is Blake Lively doing on the cover of Vogue ??
I am really tired of seeing actresses/celebrities/socialites/reality tv stars on the cover of fashion magazines..
Was Anna Wintour sleeping or wearing very dark sunglasses when she approved that cover and mistook Blake for a cat walk queen..argh okay I'm done.

Agreed! A very unique way to bring a customer into the world of the celebrity choosen to embody the product's vision. Marion is a perfect choice.

What I believe is that the product that has the most innovative and interesting advertising campaign will sell the best.I think that in the moden world advertising in general became so advanced in technologie and computer graphics that it is extremely difficult to impress targeted audience. As a result, corporations have to think about more creative ways of advertising their product that would stand out. I think Dior does it absolutely right in achieveing its goal.I love every Lady Dior mini movie and some of them can watch over and over again, however I doubt I will ever by any of the advertise Dior bags simply because I differentiate between product itself and art. When two are combined together (which is extremely rare) it is a different story, but for now Dior bags are just well made bags with no peronality to me. :-)))

I think that these films are a lovely representation of Dior in general, as well as the true femininity of a woman. Stunning!! :)

These are straight up art! What a cool way to promote the bags. I do think it would be cool if they connected tho.
